About Us-

After 35 years of mail order catalog sales, Jeff Barr’s "All Jazz Records" now displays on the web, as the “JazzRecordScene.com”.,  presenting 1000s of jazz records, ranging from classic jazz of the ‘20s, to legendary and elusive first pressings modern jazz LPs of the '50s and '60s ... The JazzRecordScene.com represents the LP era in jazz, with all its schools and styles, all the masters and their acolytes

JazzRecordScene.com is intended to be a resource for the jazz  record collector, the discographer, the audiophile, and especially, the listener who is beginning or expanding his interest in jazz music and needs a base line of information about collecting the music.

If you are growing your jazz collection, or simply looking for some forgotten fun, you can depend on our musical taste and awareness to be of assistance in adding new records to your collection, as we’ve been studying the jazz record  "scene" since the late ‘50s.

FROM THEN TO NOW

Jazz writer-disc jockey- historian Jeff Barr has sold over 150,000 jazz records to collectors, record stores, and music libraries. With a background in music production and jazz radio broadcasting, Barr has been fortunate enough to obtain  many high quality record collections from writers, producers, DJs, and musicians, as well as the occasional  “tune cat’s”  collection.

The common interest of record dealers, collectors and audiophiles is best served by maintaining a grading standard that can be trusted. We don’t want to be part of any record transaction that we’re not pleased about participating in. So we start with clear concise grading language that is consistent from one disc to the next.

What’s The Difference Between Almost Perfect and Slightly Used?

Condition descriptions are carefully worded to help you inform yourself about an LP’s enjoyability / playability scale. How likely are you to be satisfied by the cost savings involved in purchasing a record that shows noticeable previous usage, yet still has a high degree of enjoyable listening quality? This is the age old question of record collecting. Many records that show moderate to heavy handling still have considerable sonic virtue after cleaning and preening… enjoy the price savings!  ( A major proportion of the collection consists of unused LPs and many art jackets in mint/near mint condition.)

Records are carefully inspected, graded and priced to reflect our interest in making the listener the most satisfied person in the exchange. Our satisfaction guarantee is generous - whenever there is a legitimate problem, we will allow 100% money back guarantee on any item you think has been so overgraded you can’t enjoy it. Often we don’t even ask for the return of the record, you'll get an on the spot credit or refund or replacement.
