RECORD GRADING CODES
5+  =  An unplayed, sealed record still protected by bag or shrink wrap.

5  =  Record appears to have no signs of usage. Careful inspection/evaluation standards apply

4.5 to 5  -  Record carefully used, with little appearance of previous handling. The listener can expect little or no surface noise related to any previous usage.

4.5  =  Record well cared for , with minor signs of handling and usage, that have no affect on audio playback quality.

4+  =  Record shows light usage, plays extremely well with the outside possibility of occasional and intermittent light surface noise. (light play marks)

4  =  Record shows slightly  greater amount of handling, retains high level playing characteristics. (minimal amounts of surface noise may occur)

3.5  =  A record with moments of surface noise, scratches and scuffs, greater signs of handling, still enjoyable to most tolerant listeners.

3  =  A record with more signs of usage, surface noise detracting but not to a distracting level, enjoyment of the music still possible without a great amount of effort.

2.5 =  A record showing greater degree of use, but judged to be listenable to the more tolerant ear. (Although surface wear is prominent, music fidelity is not greatly compromised)
